Puerto Rico. GM Security Technologies recently announced the appointment of Hector Guillermo Martinez as President of GM Security Technologies. Héctor Guillermo assumes the challenge of continuing to strengthen the company at its base in Puerto Rico, as well as continuing its expansion in the northern region of Latin America with international operations and business development in Panama, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia and Trinidad & Tobago, generating new business, promoting its comprehensive security solutions (cybersecurity and electronic security) and continuing to guarantee its customers data security and world-class technology.
Héctor Guillermo has been serving as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development, leading the strategic initiatives that will give continuity to the development and consolidation of solutions and services, which allow companies to accelerate the advancement of their businesses.
He has a recognized and extensive professional career of more than 15 years of experience, which has led him to work extensively in the areas of information technologies, physical and logical security, operations, project planning, business development, among others. Additionally, he has specialized in serving the IT needs of emerging markets that represent growing economies, where technology is a fundamental factor for their development and evolution.
Prior to joining the GM Security Technologies team, Hector Guillermo was based in Singapore for 6 years, where he was responsible for leading the security practice of EMC Corporation and RSA throughout the Asia-Pacific region and Japan for the Office of the CTO, focusing on cybersecurity initiatives, electronic security, project management, and EMC and RSA positioning in this region.
Since 2004 Héctor Guillermo has a private detective license, focusing on investigation and forensic analysis licensed via the Puerto Rico State Police. Hector G. has also been certified as a Personal Protection Practice Specialist (PPS) from the Executive Protection Institute in Berryville, Virginia, United States. Additionally, he is certified in ISO 27001 LI by the "International Organization for Standardization", and PCI-QSA (Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assesor) by the PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council) security standards council.
Héctor Guillermo holds an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business at the City University of New York and is a graduate of the executive program of the MIT Sloan School of Management and BSc from Wagner College in New York.
