International. Providing security and communication solutions, as well as supporting large projects around the world is a key competence of Bosch Security and Communication Systems. Dubai International Airport is one such project, in which Bosch has been involved for more than 15 years.
Dubai International Airport, with its seven terminals and transit buildings with a total size of almost 2 million square meters, receives more than 66 million people a year. Since 1999 Bosch Security Systems has been heavily involved in this gigantic project. The first Voceo and Audio Evacuation ("PA") system was installed by Philips CSI (Communication, Safety and Image), acquired by Bosch Security Systems in 2002. Over time, Dubai International Airport has grown and buildings have been added to it. Bosch is the supplier of almost all the voice and audio evacuation systems of these new facilities. Today, the first facility is being "upgraded", so all areas of the airport feature the same state-of-the-art technology.
The complete solution is impressive: in total, Bosch delivered its fully digital Praesideo system, along with 900 amplifiers - with a power of 428 kW, almost 23,000 ceiling speakers and around 500 active linear array speakers in order to achieve excellent intelligibility of the word, which is very important for a large project of these dimensions.
As well as at Dubai airport, Mexico has airports protected with security and communication solutions from Bosch.
