Colombia. So far the promises of the Mayor's Office of Cúcuta to improve security in the center of the city through security cameras need the last step to come true, because more than 90 cameras and 11 computers remain stored waiting for someone to manage them.
After the installation of the monitoring system on 10th and 11th streets between avenues 0 and 5, they did not come into operation because there is no one to operate the implements that cost about 220 million pesos (US $ 85 thousand) according to the newspaper La Opinión.
As explained by the Secretary of Citizen Security, Tubalcail Contreras so far no one has been in charge of the operability of the instruments, because until last year the Corpocentro corporation was in charge of its care who were in charge of carrying out some improvement work in the center of the city, due to the termination of the contract with the mayor's office since then no one has taken charge of the cameras.
So far it is expected that the Police or some entity will take charge of the implements that day by day are being devalued without being used.
