Panama will receive the XIV CLAB 2014

altPanama. From September 10 to 12, Panama will host the technological summit of the Americas for the financial sector by being the host country of the XIV Latin American Congress and Exhibition of Banking Automation – CLAB 2014, organized by the Latin American Federation of Banks - Felaban, which brings together more than 500 national and international banks operating in the region.


The event is attended annually by more than 600 delegates from banks and other financial institutions as well as representatives of the information technology and telecommunications industry, in order to address issues related to the application of advanced and innovative solutions to the management of their different business areas.

The event also attracts the participation of more than 80 companies providing platforms and technological solutions from around the world that occupy two stands offering products and services.

The academic and technical agenda includes round tables and keynote lectures on relevant current issues such as the future of banking, popular inclusion in development through expedited access to financial services offered by new technologies based on mobile devices, persistent and new threats to information security and transactions by electronic means, the contribution of technology to the management and control of risk and compliance with international regulations, marketing in the era of mobile and social networks and future trends and new challenges that bring with them virtualization and cloud computing, among others.

To develop these themes, the Banking Association of Panama, responsible for the organization of the event, has invited renowned experts in the field of innovation and transformation among which Frank Schwartz, Executive President of BankITX.com - the first global exchange for innovative banking technology; Scott Bales, Innovator, visionary and passionate about banking who helps people have better access to their money and the tools to manage it; Jason Polancich, a veteran with 20 years of experience in U.S. intelligence agencies and an expert on complex Internet security and cybercrime defense issues; Dan Latimore, First Vice President of the Celent Banking Group who has been quoted many times in the press, including the Wall Street Journal, CNBC and American Banker in relation to innovative customer relationship strategies and Elena Alfaro, Director of the Spanish consulting firm EMO Insights that is dedicated to helping companies adopt a strategic philosophy that implies a new way of approaching marketing, all of them together with representatives of recognized international consulting firms in the field of technology applied to financial services, as well as high-level executives of banking institutions and companies that provide technological platforms.

It also has the contribution of important executives of banks operating in the region, including Jorge Ruiz, Executive Director of Citibank who heads the Business Development and Digital Banking Division for Latin America, who will share their experiences in the field of the implementation of innovative technological solutions to generate new business opportunities.
