Mexico. In a few weeks, video surveillance cameras will be installed in the verificentros of the state of Hidalgo. The above with the aim of monitoring the way in which such establishments operate, where vehicles are subjected to anti-pollution tests.
This was made known by the Attorney for the Environment, Salvador Aguilar Rivera, who said that it is intended to end the traffic of holograms, after this year serious irregularities were detected in some vehicle verification centers established in the entity, so it was determined to adopt some measures, apart from applying corresponding sanctions against the concessionaires who have incurred in faults.
One of the actions to promote transparency is precisely to install surveillance cameras, through which there will be permanent monitoring.
But these actions are still not enough to avoid acts of corruption, said Aguilar Rivera, who also warned that with the cameras it will be possible to document and testify to any anomalous situation.
He said that it is not a "witch hunt" that is undertaken in vehicle verification centers, but that it is intended to fulfill its function of preventing polluting vehicles from circulating.
