SYTEC SAS, an electronic security installation firm, started a CCTV project in different headquarters of the company Coexito in a pandemic, to date it has covered more than 70 points nationwide and has achieved a significant reduction in thefts of around 60%.
By Security Sales
Lince Comercial, the official spokesman of the information, indicated that during this project the standardization of alarms and closed circuit television was carried out with a pilot project in 70 "energitecas" nationwide and 6 dispatch centers, or main distribution warehouses, spaces in which 5 cameras were installed, 1 NVR of 8 POE channels for each energy and a DSC pro alarm system with dual technology sensors LC104, Smoke and Panic Key Sensors.
In general, the technology involved for this improvement of security systems was from the manufacturers DSC and DAHUA. It is also worth mentioning that the project started in February 2020, so the benefit data reported in this text correspond to the results obtained from that date until this publication (March 2023).
Project details
According to Lince, the end customer, Coexito, is a company dedicated to the commercialization of spare parts and fast mechanics for vehicles with headquarters nationwide, which have been called "energitecas".
The relevance of this client is that it has more than 60 years of experience to date, but had old alarms with deficient installations that generated repair costs and false alerts, hence the installation of new CCTV systems, alarm, access and an evacuation kit with high quality standards and aligned with current regulations.
"The client's network was used to integrate the security systems in their own monitoring center with 1 (one) alarm server (Power Manager) and 1 DSS video server."
Other relevant data is that this project had 600 cameras, 86 NVRs, 86 hard drives, 600 motion sensors, 86 panic buttons, 82 DSC PRO alarm panels, 82 sirens, 16,000 meters of Cat Dahua cable, 24,000 meters of upper alarm cable, 6 Video Wall screens and 82 Dahua monitors.
Technical description
"The products installed with their optimization reduced claims by 53% and false alarms by 95%, as well as the operating costs of changing users, cancellations and delivered full alarm control, in addition to IP CCTV."
An interesting fact is that the recovery of the investment was reflected 24 months after the start of the project.
However, "with the standardization of locations, brands and security processes, the system was highly efficient, having the same description of zones and location of cameras nationwide."
In general, the objective of this project was to increase security standards with the client's network infrastructure and give them total control of the operation, but without operational cost overruns, while counting on 'Backup' of the different sites lasting 90 days on average. In addition, it was also sought and managed to include artificial intelligence for the protection of high-risk perimeters.
Results
Finally, although Lince clarifies that the end client chose the technology mentioned for the cost/benefit ratio, he emphasizes that it delivered an important commercial settlement and reduction of illicit activities by 60%, something remarkable when taking into account that the project was executed in Pandemic, with the logistical difficulties and locative permits that this implied, because Colombia was one of the countries that maintained the longest confinement.
