AXIS D2050-VE radar was the winner of the Site Protection (Hardware) category, one of the most numerous of the Benchmark Innovation Awards 2018. This is the fourth international award given to radar in the last 12 months, including the recognition of the SIA (Security Industry Association) as a New Product in "Intrusion Prevention and Detection Solutions", the Detektor International Award 2017 in the category "Alarm and Detection", and the ASIS Accolades Award.
The recognition of the technology demonstrates the growing impact of IP radars on protection against external threats on premises. The solution complements video surveillance systems and combines radar detection technology and intelligent algorithms that warn about a possible perimeter invasion.
One of the reasons for the success of AXIS D2050-VE radar is because it offers more accuracy and fewer false alarms regardless of day or night weather conditions. In addition to this, the radar can operate as a stand-alone device or integrated into a broader solution. Being a device connected to the network, it is possible to access video recordings to ensure that the threat is real, as well as activate audio devices that can issue an alert, acting as a first reaction against possible intruders.
"At Axis, everyone strives to design, develop and implement innovative technologies that make our world a safer and smarter place," says Alessandra Faria, Axis Director for South America. "The award given to IP radar is further confirmation of the impact this product is having on the market, precisely because there is no such thing in the electronic security industry. In August, radar was Axis' big highlight at the International Security Fair in Colombia, and we will continue to conduct new proofs of concept with our customers throughout the region to meet the demand for this new intrusion detection system."
