Latin America. With the introduction of AVIOTEC in the fire detection market, Bosch seeks to provide a solution that determines the existence of smoke or flame in a protected area with the highest reliability and great speed of detection.
As indicated by Iván Paredes, Promotion and Marketing Specialist of Bosch's line of Fire Detection Systems for Latin America, there are conditions that require the system to be able to give alarm in seconds, but avoiding or reducing false alarms.
What are the main features and advantages of AVIOTEC?
Bosch has developed an algorithm to detect the presence of flame or smoke, through the analysis of the physical characteristics of the fire phenomenon.
By studying thousands of different types of flames, development engineers found a mathematical model that determines with extreme precision whether there is one or more flames in a scene, there is smoke or if it is another type of disturbance. This mathematical model runs directly on the processor of the AVIOTEC Starlight 8000 camera. Since the intelligence is in the camera, AVIOTEC does not need external servers or applications to perform the detection.
According to tests carried out by independent laboratories, such as VdS in Germany, AVIOTEC detects the presence of a 30 cm wide flame, or a smoke column 50 cm wide, in a few seconds. It also ensures effective detection in 7 lux lighting conditions, while existing solutions on the market need three times or more.
And, in the field of life protection, product standards and certifications are important; AVIOTEC is VdS Certified and can be installed according to the recommendations of NFPA 72.
In which facilities or environments is it possible to install this solution?
The AVIOTEC video flame and smoke detection system was designed to offer a solution in situations where any other existing technology fails. In places with extreme dirt, high humidity levels, very high ceilings or where the speed of detection is critical, AVIOTEC is the best, and sometimes the only, solution. Considering these conditions, it can be used in mining, industrial applications, distribution centers, warehouses and storage places of high-value objects, airport hangars and terminals, food processing and agricultural plants, metro and railway systems.
In addition, there are solutions on the market that can cause false alarms when exposed to direct white light, such as in theaters and movie theaters, where AVIOTEC also offers an efficient solution. Is it friendly and easy to install?
To ensure coverage according to the need of the project and international standards for the design of detection systems, Bosch developed a very simple tool that helps consultants and designers to carry out their project optimally. For its installation, it is only necessary to define the size of the flame and the smoke column to be detected and the verification time. The lens focus is done automatically and the lighting and balance parameters are fixed. It is a very friendly solution, and being an ONVIF camera, it is compatible with any video software on the market.
How has the market responded?
Excellent. The market recognizes that Bosch has developed a solution with impressive quality, reliability and effectiveness. A year after its launch, there are more than 150 systems installed, with more than 1,000 cameras in the field, in various locations.
