Mexico. Panasonic de Mexico participated in Expo Seguridad 2018, the event where companies specialized in the surveillance, security and protection sector present their services and systems.
For this edition, Panasonic not only exhibited its complete video surveillance solutions – including completely new equipment – but also shared its stand with MRKtec, a Mexican distribution and integration company, with which it recently celebrated an important commercial alliance.
The offer of video surveillance equipment and systems that Panasonic presented at Expo Seguridad focus mainly on four vertical markets: safe city, industry, penal system and building/retail. The main novelty that was shown for the first time in Mexican territory was the fisheye IR camera model WV-S4550L / WV-S4550LM, belonging to the line of outdoor cameras i-PRO Extreme, which are characterized by their resistance to weathering, vandalism and extreme weather conditions.
The WV-S4550LM camera incorporates a 5-megapixel "fisheye" lens, capable of capturing clear and distortion-free video at a speed of up to 30 FPS, encoded in H.265 compression, which guarantees great image quality in small files. The optical system also includes an infrared LED for low-light image capture, as well as a Super Dynamic sensor capable of discerning objects and people in backlit or shadow scenarios.
Like the rest of the shelf, the WV-S4550LM is ultra-resistant and complies with the EN50155, IP66, IK10 and 50J weathering protocols, as well as the FIPS 140-2 Level 1 security standard, regarding the secure encryption of files and data. Ideal for schools, hospitals, banks, shops and business or government buildings, the camera incorporates an intelligent system of heat analysis and people counting, this as part of the software platform used by the rest of the equipment of the i-PRO Extreme family
The linear i-PRO Extreme
In addition to the fisheye WV-S4550LM camera, the i-PRO Extreme range of solutions includes "bullet", box, dome, PTZ and pole tip camcorders. Designed for high-demand applications such as roads, toll booths, warehouses, factories and even prisons, these devices stand out for offering "extreme performance in extreme conditions".
On the other hand, Panasonic's solutions are complemented by the Face Recognition Server Software WV-ASF950, named by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as the software with the highest level of facial recognition accuracy in the world. By combining this high-precision system with the WV-S1131 camera of the i-PRO Extreme series, you get outstanding results and greater efficiency in image and video processing.
Panasonic and its allies
Last year, Panasonic and the international firm key Business Process Solutions (keyBPS) reached an agreement to distribute video surveillance solutions that allowed Panasonic to boost its presence nationwide through the broad keyBPS channel. This year, the Japanese company signed a similar agreement with MRKtec, through which Panasonic's solutions will be distributed to more customers in the country, while MRKtec will serve as a link with the end user, assisting Panasonic in matters of advice, repair, after-sales service, design, technical support and training, among others.
Both companies represent for Panasonic an important added value, especially in the field of engineering, since their knowledge and experience with equipment and systems of high technological level, allows them to integrate Panasonic products with great efficiency and according to the technical specifications required by the brand.
Panasonic + MRKtec
This invaluable partnership will give MRKtec the opportunity to actively promote Panasonic solutions available in the market by organizing workshops, roadshows and special presentations with potential customers, and Panasonic that much-needed approach with customers and prospects that will allow it to consolidate even more in the country.
MRKtec also plans a communication strategy that makes known the advantages offered by Panasonic systems, highlighting their manufacturing process, high resistance materials and high quality standards on which the brand has been governed since its foundation, 100 years ago.
According to Luis Alberto Caballero, Product and Project Manager of MRKtec, the main objective of this alliance is "to position Panasonic as a state-of-the-art technology brand, which has pre and post sales services, capable of making integrations for the benefit of our customers and users".
For his part, Gerardo Castillo, Manager of Panasonic Mexico CCTV Solutions, commented: "Every day, vertical markets such as industrial, urban video surveillance and prisons demand better systems; more reliable, flexible and cost-effective. To achieve this, Panasonic is looking for ways to transfer all these benefits to each of our customers, through innovation, technology, operability, operation, in each of our range of solutions."
