Mexico. With the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the advent of 5G, telecommunications networks have had to evolve to adapt to higher transmission speeds and connectivity needs, which has represented a great challenge for service providers when offering a solid and efficient infrastructure, where fiber is playing a fundamental role.
Because of this, CommScope presented innovative fiber optic solutions for Service Providers during the FTTH LATAM 2018 Conference, where it also shared with all attendees topics and trends of relevance in today's world.
"The development of efficient networks, capable of covering all connectivity needs, has never been more important. Today the contents in HD and 4K have caused the demand for bandwidth to grow exponentially, "said Eduardo Jedruch, President of Fiber Broadband Association LATAM "The agendas of the operators show technological trends such as IoT, 5G, Edge Computing, SDN, NFV and in all of them the Optical Fiber will be the central axis. We can say that, without a doubt, without fiber there is no 5G."
Cisco data projects that by 2021 about 26.3 million devices will be connected to the network, of which 63% will do so wirelessly. This panorama only shows one of the great challenges that has forced service providers to innovate quickly and boost the deployment of fiber networks in both Data Centers and Headquarters.
In this regard, Edwin Martínez, FAE Manager of Service Providers at CALA - CommScope, pointed out during his presentation: "There is currently an unprecedented demand for fiber connectivity. There are a greater number of users and devices, which demands increasing bandwidth to deliver. All of this has propelled service operators towards convergence and adoption of new architectures within Headquarters, based on Data Centers (CORD), which will allow customers to reduce their CAPEX and OPEX by investing in an infrastructure ready to support current requirements and future trends."
Exceeding its expectations year after year, the FTTH LATAM Conference 2018 is presented as the stage where the main players of the fiber optic industry of Latin America converge, where CommScope, as a globally recognized company, has been able to approach to share its experience and knowledge to an increasingly important market.
"Attending the FTTH Conference helps us to broaden the panorama of what is happening in other regions of the world in terms of trends and technology development, but at the same time, it gives us the opportunity to show our innovations and solutions to those who visit us, through which they can face the future challenges that 5G demands of them", added Edwin Martinez.
During the FTTH LATAM 2018 Conference, CommScope showed attendees some of its solutions that will allow operators to have an efficient infrastructure, such as its TENIO™ Fiber Optic Splic closures, which simplify sealing through patented technology; in addition to the state-of-the-art NG4 High Density Optical Distribution Rack Platform, which reduces the inventory of fiber optic jumpers and optimizes space within the central office.
"As a company we are committed to continue supporting our customers and business partners, always improving the quality of service and performance of our solutions, facilitating the implementation of solutions that reduce expenses and increase their income; in addition to continuing to serve as Trusted Advisor, which will allow us to continue with the great approach and advice on technological trends that has distinguished us", concluded Edwin Martínez, FAE Manager of Service Providers at CALA – CommScope.
