Axis Communications
The companies Dedrone and Axis Communications launched a technology capable of detecting the use of drones for criminal purposes, such as obtaining industrial secrets, delivering objects to inmates and violating privacy. The demonstration, held in October at Axis' South American headquarters, marked the innovative use of surveillance cameras to identify a drone approaching a commercial building, in combination with DroneTracker technology.
The DroneTracker software uses radio frequency (RF) and Wi-Fi sensors to detect the presence of drones in the vicinity, in addition to being able to identify the exact point from where it is being controlled by the pilot. This allows you to discover who is controlling the team and what their intentions are. The software also uses Axis monitoring cameras to detect and visualize the drone in high definition and track its movements within the airspace, generating a visual record of everything that happened.
From a technological point of view, drones can fly controlled by a pilot, using radio frequency detected by Dedrone's sensor, or autonomously through GPS coordinates. In the latter case, Axis' own cameras detect the presence and generate alerts that appear at the same time even on mobile devices, such as the Apple Watch.
