Latin America. It's no secret that the accelerated evolution of the mobile network, devices and services has affected people's lives to the point of changing the way things are done, from the most routine to the most complex. A life transformation that of course translates to business, customers at all levels feel, think and evaluate products, services and offers differently, just as mobile evolution has taught them. Security businesses are no strangers to this and change has already begun.
The 5 key elements of change:
Online Information: As they find it with a bank, an airline and the pizzeria, users of security services prefer access to information online and in real time from their mobile devices. It is not just an App to access the video system or have access to the office using the mobile as an "access control card", the user wants a complete management of the services, of his provider ... from requesting a technical service, making an invoice payment or accessing all your data. It is estimated that less than 0.5% of integrators in Latin America have an application from their own company.
High speed: Impatience reigns in these times, users have learned to quickly access information and therefore expect immediate responses from their services and security systems. Unfortunately it does not always apply, even a large percentage of alarm and fire systems in Latin America use the DTMF protocol on a telephone line to communicate emergency events, not only is it the slowest means of transmission of the offer, but it presents a higher level of vulnerability. These old technologies are basically used by price, but the cost of a failure can be substantially higher.
Simplicity: Another lesson of mobile evolution is that high standards of service can be achieved with unimaginable simplicity. The new and most popular applications of communication, messaging, among others, have steep learning curves and a child, in a matter of minutes, has the ability to operate them completely. Even when an application is security and its architecture is highly engineered, the operation must be simple.
Reinvention: It's simple, there's always a better way to do things. Notably, in the area of security, companies and users tend to operate following the same rules of the past. For example: an alarm system has to have a keyboard, that's a law. Does this apply today? It turns out that now every user has a touchscreen "keyboard" in their hands, with universal operating systems. Is it time to replace the old keyboard with an application on the mobile?
Proactivity: Usually the mobile phone announces that traffic in the area is slow and the time of arrival of a user at home is certain minutes. How do you do it? Thanks to the management of mega data or massive information, it is possible to locate patterns and behaviors to act predictively. The phone collects information on trips, times, recurrences and is able to make suggestions. Do security integrators have how to collect this information? The answer is yes, thousands of vigilantes in the streets, video systems, central with hundreds and thousands of monitored accounts collect valuable information which can be used to project possible security events, behaviors of the systems and users, among others.
EBS Latin America is a participant in the change in security technologies by promoting state-of-the-art transmission systems in 2G/3G and IP technologies, mobile applications for alarm systems, real-time task control, among others.
