International. Hanwha Techwin has signed a partnership agreement with NVIDIA, a leading technology company in artificial intelligence (AI), with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the products and solutions in its portfolio that use this type of technology.
NVIDIA is a North American company, leader in the world of computer graphics cards, and has achieved numerous successes through the development and manufacture of GPUs (graphics processing units). It is a first-class technology company, which promotes artificial intelligence technology and produces graphics processing units for computers, robots and self-driving cars, through the use of "Deep Learning" algorithms.
Through this global partnership, Hanwha Techwin and NVIDIA plan to collaborate on an intelligent video analytics platform that is currently being developed by NVIDIA.
NVIDIA's intelligent video analytics platform will feature the aforementioned artificial intelligence GPUs that employ "Deep Learning" in security devices (either cameras or storage media), thus allowing a fast and accurate analysis of video data and providing relevant information to customers.
Hanwha Techwin plans to focus on developing cameras and storage devices with artificial intelligence that can autonomously detect abnormal movements and situations, using NVIDIA's ai-powered video analytics platform.
In addition, the platform can be applied to various Hanwha Techwin solutions: urban video surveillance, retail, traffic control and others. This will enable the integration of solutions that employ artificial intelligence, making it possible for the company to take a step forward not only as a security specialist with hardware and software features, but also in future technologies and solutions.
"Our collaboration with NVIDIA allows us to take a step forward toward future security solutions that employ artificial intelligence and makes it possible for us to continue learning to continue strengthening our technological competitiveness in this market," said Lee Man-Seob, president and CEO of Hanwha Techwin Security Business Group.
