Colombia. Fortinet announced the launch of its new series of universal wireless access points (APs), designed to reduce complexity with the most flexible enterprise-grade solution on the market. Innovative universal access points combine true unified network access control and visibility with superior protection thanks to Fortinet's Security Fabric.
"IT staff face significant scaling and security challenges for their wireless networks to meet the growing demand for access and the increased dangers that IoT is going through. Fortinet's Security Fabric solves these challenges by integrating security with wireless infrastructure to unlock advanced internal segmentation strategies that are essential for defending against IoT threats. Now, we are offering automated operations and plug-in-play compatibility with any Fortinet base access management and introducing the patented FortiAP-U series of universal access points that reduce the barrier customers face to implement the increased security protections of Fortinet's Security Fabric," said John Maddison, Senior Vice President, Products and Solutions, Fortinet.
Fully integrated within the Fortinet Security Fabric, FortiAP-U series devices offer unified protections for the network perimeter with security and application control features. The seamless integration of Security Fabric also enables network access segmentation capabilities, which provides the only security strategy capable of protecting enterprises against IoT and endpoint threats before they have access to sensitive internal information.
Universal access points feature an innovative plug-in-play implementation, allowing each device to automatically determine the base management type and download configuration information for rapid deployment without the need for IT to manually update each device.
Fortinet's Universal APs are also designed to accommodate the wireless needs of large enterprises through innovative 2 802.11ac Wave features such as quadruple spatial transfers, 5 GHz extended channel support, 160MHz channel amplitude and MULTI-user MIMO.
These technologies maximize device bandwidth and capacity, supporting even the densest wireless needs with multi-gigabit performance while providing advanced security and unified visibility for all network-connected devices. These features, combined with universal management capabilities, allow the flexibility to scale effortlessly as network requirements increase.
