Latin America. Boon Edam Inc. announced the change of the names of its full-height and half-body safety access gates to harmonize with the nomenclature of its turnstiles. The full-length gate has also been redesigned to offer more flexibility, a more aesthetic finish and a higher return on investment.
New names for security gates
Since acquiring Tomsed Corporation in 2005, Boon Edam has continued to manufacture and improve the durable turnstiles and gates that made Tomsed the largest tourniquet manufacturer in the United States.
To date, the floodgates are the latest products whose names will be officially renewed, moving from the old names of Tomsed models to names more consistent with the Boon Edam product line.
The nomenclature change has already taken effect. The full-body THT-51 safety gate is now called the "Turnlock Side Gate" and the half-body THG-42 access gate is now called the "Trilock Side Gate."
Recently, Boon Edam redesigned the Turnlock Side Gate to improve its durability and aesthetics and make it more flexible, allowing it to adapt to the functions of the gate at the place of use, in case a change of owners occurs. The following are the new features of this full-body gate:
- It comes in two standard sizes: a 36" or 48" mouthpiece.
- Option of electric latch or magnetic lock.
- Motorized door closer with a cover resistant to atmospheric agents that improves its useful life.
- Possibility to configure -in the place of use- the direction of oscillation to the left or to the right.
- Easy installation (optional) of emergency bar kit and anti-vandalism mesh at the place of use.
- The Lexan™* transparent panel version of the Turnlock Side Gate is often used indoors, along with Boon Edam's Turnlock 200 or 250 transparent turnstiles.
In addition to all the improvements listed above, this safety side gate now offers the following aesthetic improvements:
- Metal rails and uprights that are assembled using hidden inner joints and minimal welding.
- Polished stainless steel veneer (#4) at the top of the gate that harmonizes with the upper channel cover or the stainless steel canopy of an adjacent Boon Edam turnstile.
