International. Mobotix announces that Mobotix's Board of Directors has a new Chairman. Yuji Ichimura, Executive Officer of Konica Minolta, Inc. ("Konica Minolta"), majority shareholder of Mobotix, who was appointed to the Board of Directors at the request of the competent company from the Commercial Registry, has now been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company.
At Konica Minolta, Yuji Ichimura holds the positions of Executive Officer and Executive General Manager of Business Development Headquarters. The Board of Directors of MOBOTIX AG welcomes the collaboration with Yuji Ichimura, who will replace Dr. Ralf Hinkel following his voluntary retirement from the Board of Directors of MOBOTIX on 31 May. From now on, the Mobotix Board of Directors will consist of Yuji Ichimura, Kunihiro Koshizuka and Sabine Hinkel.
With Konica Minolta as a new strategic shareholder, MOBOTIX aims to enhance its leading camera technology through innovations such as new higher-resolution image sensors and even more powerful lenses. Another goal is the joint development of next-generation security solutions that incorporate Konica Minolta optical systems such as 3D-LiDAR. This novel high-precision sensor with laser technology will be able to generate 3D images, as well as measure the distance, size and speed of moving objects.
The technology and experience of these two companies will allow the development of intelligent solutions for vertical markets, such as an assistance and care solution to monitor the elderly in nursing homes or patients in hospitals.
