Argentina. The provincial government tendered the installation of 125 fixed cameras and 31 surveillance domes distributed between Sata Rosa-Toay and General Pico. There were four bidders.
The envelopes were opened for the acquisition of cameras and radio link elements of the second stage of the video surveillance system implemented at the provincial level, with an official budget of around 4,750,000.00 pesos.
The public tender processed through the Ministry of Government, Justice and Security, took place in the Department of Purchases and Supplies under the General Accounting Office.
For the Security portfolio, the director of Technical Coordination, Kevin Christensen, was present, who pointed out that in the context of the Urban video surveillance plan, today the tender for the purchase of 125 fixed cameras and 31 domes was opened to conclude the second stage of the project.
The technical elements (around 70) will be destined to the city of General Pico, to reach the installation of 100 cameras, while the rest will be placed in the Santa Rosa-Toay conglomerate to establish the sum of 200 cameras in total.
Chistensen explained that "in terms of prevention, the cameras generate a certain perception and tranquility in the neighbors who are around their location. It has been possible to provide evidence to certain unlawful acts that have happened with the recordings that we were able to observe. In itself, the results are very good and we are very satisfied with what the project has generated".
In the case of domes, he explained that they are cameras that move in 360º placed on an arm that allow them that mobility. They have the possibility, with the zoom they present, to film even cars up to 500 meters away.
