Enterprise Security Must Remain a Priority in Mexico

Mexico. Mexico must continue to give priority to public and private actions and efforts to restore security conditions, as a basis for boosting the growth of its business sector.

Both the authorities of the sector and the Mexican private sector must maintain their efforts and even work together to establish more effective security strategies and thereby reduce the negative effects that a crime environment can generate on the business and investment mood in Mexico.

Francisco Ramírez, president of Grupo CIOS, said that the patrimonial security of Mexican companies must be protected, since the private sector is a fundamental generator of employment in Mexico, before which alliances between entrepreneurs and security authorities are becoming increasingly necessary.

It should be remembered that this week the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) recognized that insecurity in the country has negative effects on national economic development.

"Mexico must carry out additional efforts aimed at strengthening institutions and the rule of law, since, for example, the lack of public security has negative effects on trust, inhibits an efficient allocation of resources in the economy and hinders the growth of economic activity," the agency said in a report sent to the permanent commission of the Chamber of Deputies.

The president of Grupo CIOS, a firm specialized in security, recommended that a model that can be effective in terms of public and private security is the alliance between municipal authorities and the business community that works in their demarcations in order to establish particular and defined security strategies, especially in those delegations or municipalities that have a greater industrial or commercial activity.
