Colombia. The Council of Bogotá denounced an alleged irregularity in the district contracting in the installation and audit service of security cameras for the emergency services of the capital and line 123.
Javier Palacio, councilman of Bogotá, indicated that the company that was hired for about 3,000 million pesos from the Security and Surveillance Fund of the District to install the cameras, was also hired, this time through the Telephone Company of Bogotá, to audit this service.
The district comptroller, Diego Ardila, said that again there are indications that the contracting law would be violated, that the pertinent investigations will be carried out, and that everything indicates that the ETB was used as an intermediary to carry out the second contract, change the legal regime to public resources and not open a tender.
The District announced complaints against officials and contractors who are involved in this type of irregularities, arguing that corruption will not be allowed in the current administration.
