Latin America. Tyco Security Products, part of Tyco, the world's largest security and fire protection company, announces a new line of IP cameras and network video servers (NVRs) that fits the budgets of small and medium-sized businesses, while meeting their need for high-quality video surveillance.
The addition of the new Essentials line comes to strengthen the company's already robust portfolio of Illustra IP cameras. Illustra Essentials is a complete line of bullet-type IP cameras, mini dome with IR and mini dome for interiors, of advanced technology and competitive cost, ideal for small and medium businesses.
Available in 1- and 2-megapixel models, the three types of Illustra Essentials cameras offer H.264 and MJPEG dual-stream encoding, a 3.6mm fixed lens, and a maximum of 30 frames per second at 1080p or 720p for clear, crisp images.
The Essentials line's mini dome and outdoor bullet cameras are equipped with IR illuminators, true day/night vision function and wide dynamic range to capture high-quality video in different indoor and outdoor environments. Thanks to the wide dynamic range functions, the Essentials line's indoor mini dome also captures video in variable lighting conditions, making it an ideal solution for a wide range of indoor applications.
The second part of the low-cost IP surveillance option equation is Tyco Security Products' new brand of Holis network video servers, which feature 1080p resolution and video search and export features. Four- and eight-channel models provide a reliable recording solution for applications in independent retail stores, small offices, and restaurants, among others. The Holis NVRs, equipped with 4 and 8 POE ports, respectively, are designed to support applications with a small number of cameras, in an economical and efficient way. Holis NVR startup wizards are designed to provide fast and efficient network activations.
"There is a growing segment within the business community, from grocery stores to doctors' offices, that want to incorporate security into their facilities, but need inherently reliable, easy-to-operate and inexpensive products ," said Mauricio Cañas, Product and Marketing Manager of the Video Line at Tyco Security Products. "With the addition of this economic line to the Illustra IP camera portfolio and the new Holis NVRs, we have achieved the optimal balance between high quality performance and a really affordable price."
