Colombia. After the District Oversight Revealed in its recent report that Bogota residents are dissatisfied with the security system, the Secretary of Government, Gloria Flórez, spoke of the measures they will implement to abolish insecurity in several areas of the city, especially in TransMilenio.
"Our insistence as a District has always been that the National Government hand over more agents to strengthen the Transmilenio police due to the high flow of people," he said.
"We see the response of the Minister of Defense as a solution to the request of the District Government and the pilot plan that the District has been advancing to strengthen coexistence and security in TransMilenio," Flórez added after Juan Carlos Pinzón announced the measures that will be adopted, among them, asking the Prosecutor's Office for a specialized prosecutor for crimes committed in the system.
On the other hand, he assured that in the TransMilenio system 168 high-definition video surveillance cameras will be installed. "These cameras that the District puts up, through the surveillance fund, allow facial identification, that is, we make important technological leaps."
