International. HID Global has partnered with Samsung to offer businesses safe and seamless door opening management and experience, through the robust KNOX 2.4 mobile tool that will be incorporated into the new Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone. Enterprises can now deploy HID Mobile Access using Samsung's advanced Android secure mobility platform in combination with Seos, a secure, identity-protecting mobile access platform.
The mobile access solution (powered by Seos) addresses security and privacy, fundamental concerns in the implementation of mobility strategies in companies, aimed at protecting people, buildings and assets. "Mobility is a top priority for organizations, as the number of employees who are demanding access to applications and data that allow them to be productive from anywhere is greater than ever. Whether using their own devices or those of the company, staff can use this integrated solution to access their workplace comfortably and safely," said Debra Spitler, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at HID Global. "We are very pleased to partner with Samsung to deliver a secure and versatile solution for enterprise-wide mobile access."
Users can quickly download the HID Mobile Access app to their Samsung mobile device and its doors and gates via NFC (Near Field Communication) or Bluetooth Smart technology by interacting with HID Global's iCLASS SE® readers. Additionally, administrators can issue and revoke mobile IDs through HID's Secure Identity Services™ portal.
"Thanks to the partnership with HID Global, Samsung is able to offer enterprise IT departments the ability to leverage the Samsung KNOX platform when implementing HID Mobile Access," said Rick Segal, Vice President, Enterprise Business Team, IT & Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics. "This functionality allows companies to deposit the HID Mobile Access application and its security profile directly into the user's KNOX environment, thanks to which a high security solution is obtained."
