International. Clacksfirst Limited, responsible for the management of ten business and industrial parks concentrating more than 200 companies in Scotland, chose to install an advanced safety system that not only recognises pedestrians, but also identifies vehicles 24 hours a day, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
The system, which includes cameras from Axis Communications, also features motion detection analytics to record on camera any scene with movement of people or vehicles, reducing the need to have someone responsible for monitoring images, and Lightfinder technology, which delivers color images even in low-light conditions.
The decision to implement the system was made during the economic crisis that affected the country, increasing the number of thefts and suspicious behavior and harming businesses. Since the system began to work, a 50% reduction in theft cases was identified. In addition to the sense of security reported by employees, another benefit was the rapid return on investment (ROI) in the system: less than 12 months.
For Kevin Deighan, Security and Project Manager at Clacksfirst, "the return on investment was achieved in a short time due to the new video surveillance system, which turned out to be a highly effective tool against potential criminals."
"Once, video with high-resolution footage recorded on the same camera made it possible for a case that occurred in the early morning to be resolved the next morning. A truck driver from a neighboring company hit a wall that collapsed and did not take responsibility for the incident. Thanks to the images, the driver was recognized and the company ended up assuming the repair costs," he adds.
