International. ONVIF, the world's leading standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, has announced that it has expanded its membership to six of the world's seven continents with the addition of Brazilian company Intelbras to its membership pool.
"As the widespread adoption of our profile-based standards continues, we are pleased to see our membership grow every year; from North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and now latin America," said Per Björkdahl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ONVIF. "We warmly welcome all our new members," said Björkdahl.
With over 500 members and compatible products numbered at 3,500, ONVIF is the largest organization of its kind in the world. Since its inception in 2008, the organization has seen its membership grow by 25-50% each year, with the number of compatible products increasing by 250% in the last three years alone.
The global representation of ONVIF membership broadens and deepens the dialogue between manufacturers and system integrators, says Björkdahl, which will accelerate progress towards greater interoperability between brands and products.
More information on nearly 3,500 compatible ONVIF products, including vendors and models that meet the specifications, is available on the ONVIF website: www.onvif.org
