When different union entities come together for the benefit of their members, we attend a stage of maturity in which the interests of the guild prevail over the particular interests of an entity or organization. That is the real raison d'être of an association.
Fortunately for the industry, from ALAS we seek this direction and we are achieving it with important advances such as the approaches for a joint work with SIA (Security Industry Association) and for a couple of years now the joint realization of the academic program of Expo Seguridad Mexico with ASIS Mexico Chapter.
With SIA we have an interesting approach for a joint work in the region. This management began at ISC Brazil a few months ago and continued at ISC West in Las Vegas where we had the opportunity to present our work and an overview of the industry in Latin America to the board of directors of the Security Industry Association.
"For ALAS, the relationship with SIA is very important. SIA is the Association that brings together the most important companies in the security industry in the United States, with more than 500 partners and a global presence. In recent months, SIA's support and collaboration has increased, inviting our president Gustavo Gassmann to be part of the opening ceremony of ISC Brazil," says Alberto Alvarez, general manager of ALAS International.
ALAS was awarded as SIA's Strategic Partner for the promotion of the security industry in Latin America and on the occasion of this recognition, Alberto Alvarez was invited to make a presentation to the SIA Board of Directors to learn more about ALAS and show the activity in the region.
"The result of our presentation to the SIA Board of Directors was very good. We received very good feedback from several directors and Don Erickson, CEO of the association; as well as the interest of the Board of Directors in continuing to support WINGS in its work in Latin America", explains Alberto.
He adds: "SIA is a partnership with more experience and resources than WINGS and from it we can learn many things. SIA has standards, best practices, courses and study guides for NICET professional certifications, as well as very close contact with governments and other industry institutions."
ALAS wants to draw on SIA's closeness to the trainers of laws, regulations and the protagonists of technological trends. This makes it invaluable to access all this information in real time and to be able to make it available to all our partners.
Cumbre ALAS offers exclusive all-inclusive package
In order to facilitate access to all the services and activities that will be offered during the event, the Association offers for the first time an all-inclusive package with preferential prices.
The Association's annual management-focused event will take place from 16 to 17 October 2014. Once again, it is the meeting point for industry leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean. On this occasion, the Paradisus Palma Real Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will host the fifth version of the ALAS Management Summit.
Reaching its fifth edition, the Management Summit continues to be the event for the meeting of managers and leaders of the security sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our last meeting, held in 2013, had important figures that position this event as the best of its kind in the region:
- 300 attendees from 19 countries.
- 30 exhibiting companies.
- 9 conferences and panel of manufacturers.
As a result of the activity of ALAS in the Dominican Republic, the Association has chosen Punta Cana as a recognition of the electronic security industry of that country and based on the support received and the strategic alliances made with the different government entities.
Punta Cana is also the fashionable destination for events and conventions in the Caribbean. The charm of its beaches, the friendliness of Dominicans and the new and modern facilities, make this destination an important attraction for a convention such as the Management Summit.
The Convention Center of the Hotel Paradisus Palma Real is one of the newest and most modern venues on the island. Last December 2013 it was expanded by 1,672 m2 to accommodate groups of up to 850 people. In addition, it is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a team of professionals specialized in the care of large groups.
