In France, telephone alarm monitoring in 2014 will be only half of the current subscribers to this system. Ewan Lamont, market analyst explained that this forecast contrasts with Spain, a market where this item will only fall a few small percentage points. He also assured that each market responds differently to monitoring using POTS (plain old telephone lines).
Although this type of monitoring is forecast to come to an end at some point, the industry is still questioning how it will be replaced and with what success, according to Lamont.
In conclusion, the report shows that each market is different and chooses different options to generate change. In Germany they prefer IP technology, while in France GSM, but in the end, the alarm industry depends on communication networks.
