Several representatives of renowned security firms in this city gathered to update themselves within the professionalization program for officials of the security segment, offered by the association.
According to Carlos Guzmán, training coordinator of this entity, the Access Control Certification course seeks to train personnel related to the security of this country in basic issues for the design, installation and control of failures in this type of systems. Guzmán emphasized that the course was technical, but that this name does not imply that it is aimed exclusively at installers, but is also open to managerial and middle management personnel.
On the degree of technical qualification of Colombian personnel, Guzmán said: "It is sad to say, but Colombia is the country where we have fewer certified professionals; there are staff with good training, but with many paradigms, and one of them is that if I learned to do things 25 years ago and they still work for me like that, then why am I going to change".
For his part, José Francisco Días, project engineer at Lince, commented that new trainings will be carried out soon, which obey the objective of training a medium that is not very professionalized if compared to that of automation or networks. "A lot of times the customer is going to sell and they don't have sales pitches, so we're interested in people learning so they know the benefits of security technology," he said.
