The camera includes smart features such as support for HDMI (Micro) output for live streaming on a monitor in HDTV 720p, support for memory card to store videos, Corridor Format (which makes it more efficient to monitor narrow passages and corridors) and support for Power over Ethernet, in addition to DC power.

With memory card support, the camera is also compatible with AXIS Camera Companion, free video surveillance software designed for simple installations with up to 16 cameras; in addition to having support for multiple H.264 video *streams* .

The HDMI (Micro) output will be useful for retail stores where public monitoring is necessary, and the Power over Ethernet system simplifies installation and saves time and cost.
