The cameras combine a sensor or CCD (Load Coupling Device), which has a wide dynamic range, with a new 20-bit digital signal processor (DSP).The new technology gives cameras improved detail reproduction and better image quality in low-light conditions, and in these situations the high-sensitivity CCD sensor automatically analyzes each image pixel by pixel to reveal details invisible to the human eye.

The cameras provide *Smart Backlight Compensation* to optimize the light levels of various objects of interest in scenarios with a bright background. They also have day/night capability with infrared contrast for effective surveillance 24 hours a day, regardless of IR lighting.
