The permanent red helical tape runs continuously to ensure correct identification of the cable as a fire alarm circuit. It is a suitable solution for duct installations.

It supports both MC and FPL to receive no power limiting (NPLFA) or power-limited (PLFA) fire alarm circuits.

The MC type allows installation in air distribution chambers in accordance with NEC 300.22(C).
