HID presents its new evolution in IP access control: the Edge series meets the demands of open architecture and IP-based environments, provides intelligence and decision making fully distributed at the door.

Each IP Edge access solution can use Power over Ethernet (PoE) directly over CAT-5, so separate multi-gate controllers and power supply are no longer required. Edge configurations are created exactly for Host environments as well as single-door applications with a wide range of unique advantages.

Edge can adapt to any reader/card change according to future security needs. There is also an IP Edge access solution that offers scalability for a range of 1 to 40,000 card credential owners.[
