To reinforce its commitment to help people, companies and countries in the region continue their path towards digital transformation, Microsoft launches in Mexico the Cybersecurity Engagement Center, which is part of the global initiative that aims to present the company's unique perspective on computer security, the result not only of several decades of experience in the development and continuous improvement of software, but also the operation of one of the most robust and reliable cloud computing platforms in the industry. That is why Microsoft has the strong belief that the starting point is to have a permanent position on operational security, which also implies a constant exercise of it. This is concretized in a scheme in which the company focuses on protecting, detecting and responding to security threats. "At Microsoft, we are committed to investing in the region to bring our cybersecurity capabilities closer to customers, identifying current threats that affect the prosperity of the economy. With the opening of this Cybersecurity Center we will offer protection, detection and solution against attacks and security risks, to our customers, "explained Jorge Silva, general manager of Microsoft Mexico. - Publicidad - Some functions that will be performed from the Cybersecurity Center for Mexico and the region are: - Leverage Microsoft's proactive role in combating cybercrime, particularly in dismantling criminal organizations operating through Botnet schemes - Enable cybersecurity experts from Mexico and Latin America to work with Microsoft specialists to jointly combat cybercrime - Serve as a headquarters to develop training activities, aimed at authorities and the public sector in general, to support the generation and strengthening of technical capacities "This new space will work in conjunction with Microsoft's Cyber Crimes Unit, located in Redmond, Washington. The goal is to support companies and governments with security solutions, which help them in their digital transformation, with the international support of intelligence, data analysis, cutting-edge forensics and legal strategies that we offer," added Jean-Philippe Courtois, international president of Microsoft during his visit to the Cybersecurity Center in Mexico City. In addition to the opening of this space, Microsoft and the Mexican government, through the Federal Police, signed a Government Security Program, which brings together company initiatives such as the Cyber Threat Intelligence Program (CTIP), the Security Cooperation Program (SCP), as well as the Microsoft Malware Protection Center. This program will allow the government access to important information related to cybersecurity. The agreement was signed by Manelich Castilla, commissioner general of the Federal Police; and Jorge Silva, general manager of Microsoft Mexico.
