The demonstration, carried out by a group of technology companies that includes Radwin and Innercalc, is one of the novelties presented this year by Axis Communications at ISC Brazil. In addition to generating images with a Full HD resolution that reveal details of the face of passengers sitting in the last chairs, the cameras can be used to perform analyses such as counting people. One of them, located near the door of the bus, is equipped with a facial recognition system. When a passenger climbs up, the image of their face is crossed with a database – which can be a list of suspects used by the police. In case the faces match, a warning message appears on the cell phone with a photo, name and document number of the requested person, which allows the police to take immediate action. "Security at land borders is done today with an identification document as the only requirement, and this could be false. We are presenting a solution that automatically detects whether a suspect or criminal is trying to escape to another country or perhaps move state," says Sergio Fukushima, technical manager at Axis Communications. "Technology currently allows this system to be used in the future urban environment to make cities smarter and safer." - Publicidad - Another camera installed on the smart bus is installed at the front of the vehicle, to allow capturing the same images that the driver observes. This location is important when clarifying any accident, and allows to identify the license plate of the vehicle that is improperly occupying the exclusive lane for the use of buses. The solution consists of Miniature Axis F-Series cameras, combined with the FiberinMotion solution from Axis partner Radwin, responsible for transmitting images to the monitoring center.
