Last year the sale of virtualized security products reached a value of US $ 203.8 million, 64% more than in 2008. According to data presented by the telecommunications and data markets research company, Infonetics Research, the sector focused on virtual protection will multiply by 2014.The biannual *Virtual Security Appliances report predicts* that within four years the market for this protection solution will reach US$1.6 billion, taking into account that in the first quarter of 2010 the percentage of sales has grown to 119%.

The growing number of cyber threats, as well as the virtualization of servers, the challenges that this represents for security, among others, will be the main factors that will lead to the growth of the demand for virtual protection devices and solutions, as mentioned by Jeff Wilson, analyst at Infonetics Research.
