      Details     16 February 2009           *International*. According to data provided in early 2009 by Spain's National Institute of Communication Technologies (Inteco), Internet fraud has decreased, but malicious programs that steal passwords and damage computers are increasing.According to Inteco in 2007 70 percent of attacks for economic purposes were *phishing*, while the remaining 30% came through Trojans. In 2008 this percentage changed to 60 percent for *phishing* and 40 percent for *malware*.

Email is also emerging as one of the most important gateways for Trojans, as 45 percent of malicious programs are being distributed as an attachment that looks like a useful application.
