      Details     10 October 2008           *Argentina.* The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) announced that residential broadband Internet access in this Latin country grew by 47.7 percent in June to 2.55 million users. This increase was 19 percent year-on-year in June, while *dial-up* connections fell 25.4 percent and there was a 33.3 percent drop in free services.
Likewise, in Argentina the cost of broadband has decreased in recent years, as the sale of computers increased and consequently the use of the Internet. As for business consumption, broadband use grew by 19.7 percent year-on-year in June, with a drop of 18.6 percent in *dial-up* connections and 30.8 percent in free ones. According to the report presented by INDECE, email accounts increased by 13 percent in this same month, having 5.15 million in a country of just over 40 million inhabitants and the greater use of the Internet in turn raised the number of emails sent by 32.8 percent, 1,590 million.      ###  No comments
