This complex, which will be built in the Corazón de Jesús neighborhood, in front of key facilities such as the Libertadores Fire Station and the viaduct of Line B of the Metro, will be the operational base of the Integrated Emergency and Security System (SIES-M). With an estimated investment of $200,000 million, the C5 will integrate tools such as artificial intelligence, big data, intelligent video surveillance and a vertiport for drones. It will also have a hybrid TIER 3 data center, capable of operating both physically and in the cloud, which will allow a more agile response system and decisions based on real-time evidence. "This was a dream we had since our first government (...) It will have a main operations room, a visualization center, a training space for agents and an integrated network with entities such as the Metropolitan Police, the Prosecutor's Office, the justice system and 123. In total, the operation of more than 4,800 video surveillance points is projected, including fixed cameras, mobile cameras, PTZ and license plate readers (LPR). Within the framework of the Medellín Te Quiere 2024–2027 District Development Plan, the C5 will also include the installation of 1,000 community alarms, 1,300 panic buttons, technological renovation of the SIES-M and expansion of smart grids. "The only ones who have to be afraid are the criminals and we go after them. These technological tools help us a lot to guarantee security in all the neighborhoods of Medellín," said the mayor.
