International. Vaisala has pointed out that with its viewLinc Cloud solution, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies will be able to monitor the conditions of their facilities, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations.
System validation is essential in the manufacture and distribution of pharmaceutical, biological, and medical devices. In terms of environmental monitoring applications, poorly executed validation is a risk to the quality of your monitoring software implementation. Under this perspective, Vaisala announced the launch of the subscription-based SaaS application, viewLinc Cloud, which is the cloud-native version of its viewLinc software for the Continuous Monitoring System (CMS).
viewLinc Cloud is designed specifically for validated applications in the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) space, and enables improved scalability and efficiency by eliminating the need for heavy, local, and limited IT infrastructure.
"There is a trend in life sciences today where companies are moving their resource-intensive on-premises IT infrastructure to the cloud, or intend to do so in the coming years. By choosing a cloud-based system, our customers reduce the need for internal IT resources and can focus on their core business. viewLinc Cloud allows Vaisala to deploy software to a secure cloud server and manage maintenance activities, including scheduled software updates," said Steven Bell, Product Manager at Vaisala.
In a facility monitored by viewLinc Cloud Standard, on-site data loggers record temperature, humidity and CO2 levels, and the encrypted data is then transmitted via Vaisala's proprietary VaiNet wireless protocol to viewLinc's cloud database.
System users, such as lab technicians and quality managers, can easily view the data through any standard web browser. If the viewLinc Cloud system detects any deviations from the permitted measurements, it automatically alerts the staff.
