During a press conference, [Expo Seguridad Mexico](https://www.exposeguridadmexico.com/) proposed improving the safety of the workforce and the transport of goods, in response to the demands posed by the growing nearshoring environment in Mexico.

Laura Barrera, director of Expo Seguridad México (ESM) and Expo Seguridad Industrial (ESI), said that the challenges in security are challenging, which forces the industry in this sector to be more united and prepared: "That is why we have designed the ideal scenario to present advanced technology products and solutions, expose international success stories and strengthen high-level continuous training thanks to our international alliances such as the one we have with SIA."

More than 350 companies will participate in the twentieth edition of this event. During the event, there will be activities with the Government, networking between decision-makers, business agendas and more than 50 national and international presentations. In addition, important associations will hold their meetings at the event, which will be a meeting point for industry leaders, and a generator of new security strategies.

In this sense, ESI will be the great ally to offer the supply chain the products, solutions, technologies and training necessary to comply with international norms and standards in terms of protection and fire. We recognize that the specialization required by global markets requires us to update ourselves, and the ESI showroom floor is the ideal place to learn about products, equipment, developments, protections and special uniforms. There will be a demonstration area that will illustrate the safe way to operate machines, and the stage will feature highly qualified speakers on April 16, 17 and 18, at the Citibanamex Center," added Barrera.

On the other hand, Perla Ortega, an expert in security, mentioned that regarding the nearshoring environment, our country stands out among the top 15 economies in the world in obtaining credit, thanks to its robust legislation and guarantees. Chile stands out as the main country in the region to do business, followed by Mexico.

"This new context reflects that 80% of international trade is transported by ships; In January alone, maritime trade between Mexico and China increased from 73,000 to 117,000 containers on average, which reflects a dynamic that must be ![](https://www.ventasdeseguridad.com/images/stories/VDS/2024/Perla_Ortega.jpg)taken advantage of, in addition to the fact that entities such as Nuevo León, Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila and Querétaro will receive a greater number of foreign investments, according to the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness. This represents a challenge for security specialists and for those in charge of protecting and properly managing human resources," Ortega explained.

To close the press conference, Héctor Romero, security expert, spoke about the points that must be addressed so that the nearshoring boom pays dividends.

![](https://www.ventasdeseguridad.com/images/stories/VDS/2024/Hector_Romero.jpg)"We know that international conflicts, together with new global trade policies, have forced different companies to seek to relocate their logistics processes and their supply chain, this forces us to review aspects that are currently an Achilles heel for us, such as the transfer of goods, customs, logistics parks, and several other elements of the supply chain that can be affected by insecurity," Expressed.

Romero also indicated that "we must encourage the use of technology, have a focus on safety in transportation, a more predictive culture, look for reliable processes and relate them to new techniques. In addition, sticking to international standards leads to greater security, and staying constantly updated academically helps to make better decisions. That is why we must take advantage of the spaces offered by Expo Seguridad Mexico, to design better security strategies and make better decisions."

Likewise, the business vision of RX Mexico was presented, as well as the details of the next edition of Expo Seguridad México and Expo Seguridad Industrial.

"The RX global force, organising more than 400 events in 25 countries, amplifies ESM's reach and influence, and cements its position as an important platform for driving international advancement and continuous safety improvement, as it is part of the ISC Events family, which includes events and conferences in the United States and Brazil, in addition to strengthening its position as a global benchmark in the security sector," said Luiz Bellini, Managing Director of RX in our country.
