An add-on allows an ONVIF-compliant device or client to conform to additional and therefore optional capabilities outside of profiles. Because add-on features have a limited scope compared to profile feature sets, developing and publishing supplemental specifications and testing tools can potentially be easier and faster than with a profile. **Add-on** An ONVIF plug-in consists of at least one or more features that solve a use case. A plugin, on its own, is not comprehensive enough to qualify as a profile. The features of an add-in can no longer be covered in an existing, non-obsolete profile. Add-in specifications cannot include optional device/client requirements or conditional requirements for devices. Add-ons adapt to changing technology/specification requirements due to version handling. You can add new features and remove existing features from a plugin if there is sufficient market motivation. - Publicidad - **Conformity** Devices and customers who want to claim add-in compliance must pass add-in compliance testing, as well as meet an ONVIF profile. Once the add-ons are available, they will be included on the ONVIF-compliant products webpage. **Profile vs. Add-on** While the features included in the profiles cannot be changed, the add-ons are easily adapted to evolving technology/specification requirements.
