The new readers simplify system deployment and management, meet the advanced security requirements of today's dynamic environments, and prepare organizations for smarter, more connected access control. "At a time when the industry is looking to use access control systems as the backbone to create intelligent environments, it is increasingly common for consultants, integrators and end users to demand more versatile and higher-performance solutions," said Harm Radstaak, vice president and executive director of physical access control solutions at HID Global. "HID Signo is built on an open platform and is true to our commitment to innovation, thanks to its unprecedented flexibility and robust set of cutting-edge features that optimize experiences in work environments. Our goal is to provide more options to our customers and give them peace of mind, because they know that they can continuously adapt their systems as their requirements change." To maximize versatility, readers are interoperable with more than a dozen physical and mobile credential technologies allowing organizations to use the technology of their choice and easily migrate, at their own pace, to the most advanced solutions. In addition, with the support of Apple's Enhanced Contactless Polling (ECP) protocol, it allows student IDs to be supported in Apple Wallet. - Publicidad - Hid's new readers feature a variety of smart features, such as automatic surface detection that recalibrates and optimizes reading performance based on mounting location. For rugged performance in outdoor mounts, the readers also have a robust structure, with IP65 degree of protection, which do not require the installation of additional joints, and feature a capacitive touch keyboard that provides resistance in difficult weather conditions. The inherent connectivity of HID Sign readers allows administrators to remotely configure and diagnose readers, as well as monitor their status through an ecosystem of connected and managed readers from a central location. In addition, the configuration can be further optimized using the controller, via the OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol). "HID's innovative approach to access control also lays the foundation for a future of cloud-connected systems that will enable new applications and innovative capabilities, such as the ability to proactively anticipate and address system issues before they occur," Radstaak added. The readers offer a multi-level security model with built-in support for HID's secure channel OSDP protocol and recognized SIO (Secure Identity Object) technology, they also store cryptographic keys on certified secure element (EAL6+) hardware, and custom authentication keys can be used for added security. HID's patented speed check feature also protects against rapid brute force electronic attacks. **Availability** The new HID Signo line of readers is available through the Advantage Partners partner program in major markets around the world.
