International. Fortinet, a cybersecurity company, announced the integration of its dynamic security solutions in the cloud for advanced security in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Fortinet has integrated its FortiGate-VM with the newly launched AWS CloudFormation third-party resource provider framework and now offers new managed sets of Fortinet rules for AWS Web Application Firewall (AWS WAF).
In addition, Fortinet cloud security solutions now support Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) inbound routing enhancements.
Organizations are adopting the cloud at a rapid pace. According to a recent report from (ISC)2, as migration to the cloud continues to accelerate, the top cloud security concern for cybersecurity professionals is data loss and breaches. Fortinet's portfolio of cloud security solutions provides end-to-end security that unifies security controls and visibility across multiple cloud environments to protect the entire infrastructure and effectively manage risks, including data loss and other threats.
Key points of Fortinet's latest integrations on AWS include:
· Fortinet cloud security offerings that support Amazon VPC inbound routing enhancements, helping organizations build and manage large-scale deployments on Fortinet's Cloud Security Services Hub. This eliminates complicated routing management and network address translation schemes, while enabling selective and programmatic routing and distribution of inbound traffic across a variety of Fortinet security products, such as the next-generation FortiGate-VM firewall, FortiWeb-VM, and FortiMail-VM.
· Fortinet introduces new managed rules for AWS WAF that are now available for the new AWS WAF v2 API. This provides customers with more flexibility in developing their WAF security policies by allowing users to combine WAF rule sets to optimize the security of each application.
· FortiGate-VM integrates with the AWS CloudFormation Resource Provider Framework. Fortinet leverages AWS to provide users with a fully integrated experience in security policy automation, user management, network routing, and other cloud security operations. The new integration simplifies manual configuration modifications and provides an integrated, simplified way to create, update, and delete resources in AWS environments.
