Details 17 February 2015 *![](https://www.ventasdeseguridad.com/images/stories/VDS/Noticias/alasnotipanama2014.jpg)Colombia.* Bogotá expects that by the end of this month the installation of the 175 state-of-the-art security cameras will begin, which have been assigned to the most critical points due to their insecurity in the Colombian capital.

According to the director of the District's Security and Surveillance Fund, Máximo Noriega, the devices were awarded for a value close to 4,800 million pesos (about US $ 2 million), in a system that will allow progress in the judicial processes.

These devices will be added to the current implementation of LED luminaires, of which there is a goal of 33 thousand lights.

Noriega said in a dialogue with local media that within about a month citizens will be summoned to see the result of the implementation and functionality of the devices.

"In a month we will be convening citizens to demonstrate how the chamber works, which serves the judicial process by how it approaches the face of people," said the official.

To the above he added that "if there is someone with a background they will immediately be registered in the Police database and at the same time a mechanism of capture of the offender will be activated", explaining that the cameras are the perfect complement to led lights.

On the other hand, Codensa said that by March 11,400 LED luminaires will be installed to start the second phase and complete the 33,000 announced by the District Government in the sectors prioritized by the Ministry of Government.
