This makes the capital of Valle del Cauca the city with the highest coverage of cameras, as explained by the Minister of the Interior, Juan Fernando Cristo, who said that the investment for the devices will be $ 21,560 million (US $ 8.8 million), of which the Government will contribute $ 16,170 million (US $ 6.6 million) and the Mayor's Office of Cali $ 5,390 million (US $ 2.1 million). "The important thing is to provide security and tranquility to the people of Valle del Cauca," said the minister in statements collected by the newspaper El País, specifying that in this way the number of cameras in the city will rise to 741 for the first quarter of 2015.
