According to the authorities, the program is progressing slowly, because the federation stopped sending resources for security. In Tamaulipas, only 11% of all schools have video surveillance systems. For at least two years a program was announced to provide video cameras to schools in order to prevent theft, however currently little progress is made if you take into account that only about 400 of a total of 3,500 schools have this security measure. In this regard, the Secretary of Education in the state, Diódoro Guerra Rodríguez, explained that after the pilot program that began with the current administration, support from the federation was no longer received and hence the progress has not been registered with the speed that is required.
