It is nothing less than a modern video surveillance system integrated by 132 state-of-the-art cameras. These have been installed in six critical areas of the populous district, such as the Central Highway and the roads near the Monumental stadium. The mission of these teams, deployed throughout 29 urbanizations of the commune, is none other than to reduce crime and insecurity that is experienced in the streets, explained the mayor of Ate, Óscar Benavides. "The new equipment will allow to counteract common crime, pernicious gangs, vandalism of the barras bravas, as well as the recklessness of drivers who daily attack the physical integrity of the neighbors. The new cameras also have the peculiarity of capturing images in 360 degrees around. "It's about cutting-edge technology put at the service of the community," Benavides said. The video surveillance system includes a monitoring center enabled on the first floor of the municipal palace.
