These are school clothes with a built-in RFID microchip, usually on the t-shirts, which allows detecting if the child leaves the center before the end of the school day or if he arrives at class late. If this occurs, the microchip sends a text message to the parents. According to the authorities, this measure could improve the relationship between parents and teachers. It is estimated that some 20,000 students in Vitoria da Conquista will soon have smart uniforms, financed with the US$700,000 contributed by the local government.
