The 288 security cameras that the Municipality has today and the about 35 that are part of the photofines system will be connected to another 1,300 private surveillance cameras, between October and December of this year, in order to consolidate an integrated network at the service of the city. The announcement was made by the Secretary of Government of the city, Juan Felipe Palau: "The cameras will be connected to a center of the highest technology which will allow monitoring, improve the administration of police resources and response times." This Integrated Emergency and Security System will be connected to the photofines, thus achieving the strengthening of both strategies. - Publicidad - The Secretary of Government said that it is expected that the initiative will also contribute to reducing the number of high-impact crimes and a faster prosecution of criminals. For his part, Jesús María Ramírez, manager of the Company for Urban Security (ESU), indicated that this is an important technological leap and that within the strategy, which has an investment of close to 32,000 million pesos (US $ 16.8 million), there will be a closed circuit television with renewed wireless transmission cameras.
