      Details     22 November 2010            *International![alt](http://www.ventasdeseguridad.com/images/stories/VDS/Noticias/falsos-antivirus-crecieron-en-2010.jpg).* A study conducted by PandaLabs revealed that 40% of fake antivirus (also known as *rogueware*) have been created throughout 2010, which shows the growth of these threats in a business that leaves around US $ 400 million in scams.A total of 5,651,786 have been classified as fake antivirus since their appearance in 2006, of which 2,285,629 have been found between January and October of this year; 63 thousand new viruses appear daily and 11% of these are *rogueware*.

PandaLabs highlights that the success of this type of virus is due to the fear of users to keep their computers protected, which leads them to fall into this fraud due to the realism of the designs and messages used. The business moves monthly figures close to US $ 34 million.
