In order to strengthen the security of laptops, Toshiba will incorporate in laptops from fingerprint readers to facial recognition solutions, as well as password options and protection of high sophistication.Although the equipment already has a fingerprint reader, the Japanese company will extend security to face recognition including *netbooks*, according to Socrates Huesca, product manager of *projectors and notebooks* at Toshiba de Mexico, who expects that by 2011 and 2012 a more biometric link between the user and his computer will be developed.

Additionally, the use of TPM technology will also be applied, which allows the user to encrypt the information up to 128 bits, preventing third parties from stealing their information from the computer.

Toshiba's corporate models also have a security system based on an access card that the user presents to the machine, internally or externally to authorize entry into the system and information.

Additionally there are other means of protection such as blocking USB ports, tracking, locating and recovering the equipment in case of theft, as well as the disk password.
